Western Solitude is an ongoing exploration of the quiet isolation found throughout the American West. Photographed on film, the series reflects on landscapes where distance, silence, and time create a profound sense of separation from the world beyond them.
Within these vast spaces are traces of what once was—weathered structures, abandoned places, and fragments of human presence slowly returning to the land. These forgotten landscapes hold a quiet, haunted beauty, where desolation reveals an unexpected sense of stillness and reflection.
Rather than documenting place alone, the work seeks to capture the feeling of standing completely removed from the world—where solitude becomes both the subject and the atmosphere of the image.
Very much a work in progress as I continue to explore and capture images that round out and complete the series.
